Sad News:

It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the news that one of our long standing members, Maureen Hawkins (nee Stringer) has sadly passed away following a short illness, at the Sue Ryder Hospice in Peterborough, on 26th September 2016.

Maureen joined the group several years ago, and was an instant hit with both fellow members and visitors to our events.  Maureen made unique 'bears with attitude', and was affectionately known as the mad bear lady.

Maureen developed Teddytums with her husband Alistair's support and input, and Alistair was finally encouraged to join Stamford Handmade himself to sell his wonderful pieces of artwork.

Maureen leaves a huge gap in the Stamford Handmade family, and will be remembered fondly for her vibrancy,  fun, chatter and the colour that she brought to events.   The Teddytums creations really were a reflection of their creator; invariably smiling, with a twinkle in their eyes and a sense of fun about them.

Our thoughts are with Alistair and Maureen's family and friends at this difficult time, and Stamford Handmade will always remember Maureen with much love and fondness.  Our events simply will not be the same without her.

Maureen's Husband Alistair has set up a JustGiving page in Maureen's memory in aid of Sue Ryder. If you would like to contribute the page is here:
